With Super Bowl time coming up in a few days, we thought we would share this idea for a popcorn bar, in case any of you are looking for an affordable way to throw a Super Bowl party!
You can make a gourmet popcorn bar with Cake Kernels hint... hint...., or keep it really simple with just a few ingredients. Popcorn bars are suitable for birthday parties, football and game day parties, holidays and just because Football Party Game Day Popcorn Bar – Use brown paper bags to make faux footballs for folks to scoop their popcorn into. You could use a paint pen, craft paint, or white tape to create the laces look (but we loved the Ram colors)! Another option for setting up your popcorn bar is simple. You basically need a bunch of fresh popcorn, which you can display in baskets, and an array of sweet and savory toppings to sprinkle. You can have some cayenne pepper on hand, nuts, caramel or even some cinnamon sugar. The possibilities are endless. We couldn't leave you without one of our favorite recipes. 1 1/2 cups melted white chocolate or almond bark
1/3 cup powdered sugar
6 cups of popcorn
1/4 cup sprinkles (pick the color of your favorite Superbowl team
Melt the chocolate or bark in a microwave safe container for 30 second intervals (stirring each time) until melted and smooth.
Pour the popcorn into a large bowl, pour the warm chocolate over the popcorn, and stir until evenly coated. It helps to use two spoons to toss the popcorn like you are tossing a salad,
Pour the popcorn onto a cookie sheet covered in wax paper or silicone mat and immediately coat in sprinkles before the mixture hardens.
Once the chocolate has harden, sprinkle powder sugar on the popcorn mixture.
Tip: Chocolate popcorn looses the crunch very quickly. I would advise to place in air seal container in the fridge until it is ready to be eaten or serve
